The Sports Authority of India (SAI), a successor organization of the Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982, was set up as a Society registered of Societies Act, 1860 by the Department of Sports, Govt. of India with the objective of promotion of Sports and Games.
The Fit India Movement was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in August 2019 with a vision of encouraging every Indian citizen to adopt a physically active lifestyle. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) is the nodal ministry for implementing the Fit India Movement in coordination with other stakeholders.
To further propagate the message of Fit India Movement among the school children and strengthen its presence in schools, a Fit India Quiz has been envisioned to involve school children across the country. Fit India Quiz, while providing a national platform to students to showcase their knowledge about fitness and sports, also endeavors to create awareness among students about India’s rich sporting history, including centuries-old indigenous sports, our sporting heroes of the past and how traditional Indian lifestyle activities hold the key to a Fit Life for all.
Fit India Mission has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the preliminary round of the Fit India Quiz 2023 to NTA.

The Fit India Movement was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in August 2019 with a vision of encouraging every Indian citizen to adopt a physically active lifestyle. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) is the nodal ministry for implementing the Fit India Movement in coordination with other stakeholders. The aim of Fit India Movement is to encourage the citizens to include physical activity in their daily lives and to showcase the ease of simplicity of doing activities which can make them fit. In a bid to increase awareness about the importance of physical fitness in our daily lives, the Fit India Mission has conceptualized and conducted multiple events and campaigns. Fit India Movement has been able to mark its presence in more than 4 lakhs schools across the country through Annual Fit India School Week Celebrations and Fit India School certifications.

To further propagate the message of Fit India among the school children and strengthen its presence in schools, a Fit India Quiz Contest 2021 has been envisioned to involve school children across the country. Fit India Quiz is dedicated to the school students where students with interest in sports and fitness can participate and compete at state and national level.
The Fit India Quiz is primed to be the first of its kind, nation-wide quiz on sports and fitness for school children. The quiz will have representation from every State/UT in the country and will be a mix of online, web and broadcast rounds. The quiz format has been designed in an inclusive manner where school students from across the country will get an opportunity to test their sport and fitness knowledge against their peers.
The quiz contest will be held in three phases:
Phase 1: Preliminary Selection: Selection of Schools located in a State/UT on the basis of the performance of their candidates in an online test.
Phase 2: State Level contest: Selection of State Level Champion from amongst the selected schools within the State/UT in a web based contest.
Phase 3: National Level Contest: Selection of the National Champion based on the performance of the State Level Champions which will be telecast on Star Sports.
Fit India Division under Sports Authority of India shall be the chief benefactor for the Fit India Quiz and shall provide all necessary support and guidance to the stakeholders.
Fit India Mission has entrusted to NTA, the task of registration of schools, receiving nominations from them, conducting the Preliminary online test and handing over the results to them.
Schools must read carefully the Instructions (including how to fill up Application Form online) given in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA Website and comply with them.
Schools can register for FIT INDIA QUIZ CONTEST-2021 through “Online” mode only. Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
Only one application is to be submitted by a School. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a School will not be accepted.
Follow the steps given below to Apply Online:
Step-1: Register for Online Registration using the Email ID and Mobile No. of the Principal/Head Master and note down system generated Application Number.
Step-2: Complete the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application Number. Upload legible scanned images of: (i) a recent photograph of the candidate (in jpg/ jpeg file, size 10Kb – 200Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background and (ii) candidate’s signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb);
Step-3: Pay fee using Bank / Paytm Payment Gateway through Net Banking Debit Card (except Master / Visa Card) / Credit Card / UPI / Wallet and keep proof of fee paid.
All the 3 Steps can be done together or at separate timings.
After successful completion of Step-3, Confirmation Page of the Application Form, should be downloaded and a printout of the same may be retained for future reference. The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form could be generated only after successful payment of fee.
In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of Prescribed Fee, then the School should approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway integrator (in the helpline number and email given in Annexure- I of the Information Bulletin), for ensuring the successful payment.
In spite of above, if successful transaction is not reflected on the Portal, the school may contact NTA Helpline at 011 4075 9000 or write to NTA at fitindia@nta.ac.in . If the payment issue is still not resolved, the school may pay second time.
However, any duplicate payment received from the school by NTA in course of said transactions will be refunded through the same payment mode through which the duplicate payment is received, after fee reconciliation by NTA.
Information such as name of the school, Principal, contact details / address, candidates’ details, class in which they are studying, date of birth, language opted, etc provided by the School in the online Application Form will be treated as final. Any request for change in such particulars after the closure of correction period will not be considered by NTA.
Schools are advised to exercise utmost caution for filling up correct details in the Application Form. Corrections sent by the Schools/candidates through Post/ Fax/WhatsApp/Email/by Hand will not be entertained by NTA.
Schools/Candidates must ensure that their email address and mobile number to be registered in their online Application Form are their own or that of any of their parents, as relevant/ important information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address and/or through SMS on registered mobile number only. NTA shall not be responsible for any non-communication/ mis-communication with a candidate if the email address or mobile number given by him/ her is other than his/ her own or that of any of their parents.
The entire application process of FIT INDIA QUIZ CONTEST-2021 is online, including uploading of scanned images, Payment of Fees and Printing of Confirmation page. Therefore, schools/candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation page to NTA through Post/Fax/By Hand/E-mail.
Candidates are advised to be in touch with the NTA Website www.nta.ac.in or https://fitindia.nta.ac.in and check their e-mails regularly for latest updates.
NTA’s role is confined to registration of candidates, conducting the test in the online mode, processing and handing over the results to Fit India Mission. It has no role to play in selection of candidates for the next round of the quiz contest.
